Transportation Program Student Job at Circle of Care
Our Summer Student program runs each year from May to August, offering summer employment to students currently enrolled or recently graduated from applicable post-secondary studies. This program is funded by the federal government run Canada Summer Jobs Grant which requires successful candidates be 30 years of age or younger and a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
We are looking for: a full-time, contract Transportation Program Student (May to August 2023)
Hours of Work: 34 hours/week. M-T 8:30am to 4:30pm and Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm. Hybrid work from home.
Reports to: Transportation Supervisor

Responsibilities
- Support iRIDE service centre
- Respond to client/driver inquiries,
- Book/schedule rides using Trapeze.
- Update EasyCare client data i.e. funding information
- Provide online support to clients who are registered for Passenger Portal or provide training to them. This may be in the form of phone support or zoom training.
- Review booking window for violations and ensure that runs are efficient and unscheduled trips are resolved. Assigns drivers to runs and updates drivers of any changes.
- Reconcile gas receipts (monthly)
- In progress or recent completion of a related diploma or degree program
- General office applications (Word, Excel)
- Comfortable using computer applications
- Take part in unique learning opportunities including cross-disciplinary guest speakers
- Develop the knowledge and on the job experience required for a professional practice
- Participate in student-specific events
- Gain visibility into a rapidly growing sector of the healthcare industry
- Contribute to the meaningful purpose of supporting seniors to age independently in their homes
- Develop a network of industry mentors, colleagues and connections
- Open up potential future career opportunities
