We are looking to add a new Staff Accountant to our Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for supporting all of the day-to-day finances for the company. We’re looking for an energetic candidate who is eager to gain valuable experience at a growing company.

We are a fully remote team of 34 and, while our roots are in Waterloo Canada, we have team members from Vancouver to Texas to Montreal. Our ideal candidate will be in Canada and willing to work East Coast hours. This is a great opportunity for someone earlier in their accounting career, looking to gain experience in the private sector.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Responsible for issuing invoices, accounts receivable, and managing accounts payable including setting up all wire payments to vendors
• Prepare and manage payroll
• Review expense reports
• Reconcile bank statements and credit cards
• Responsible for general accounting, financial reporting, and operational analysis activities
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports for investors, regulatory agencies, and other financial groups or stakeholders
• Assist in the year-end review/ audit and tax filings with external accountants
• Assist with ad hoc requests and projects, as assigned

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• Post-secondary education in accounting/ business administration
• 1-2 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and regulations
• Prior experience with ASPE considered an asset
• Prior experience with a SaaS company, subscription-based business model considered an asset
