Sugarloaf Provincial Park
Who we are
We invite you to join the Sugarloaf Provincial Park team! We have the opportunity to work daily in our province's Appalachian Mountain region next to the city of Campbellton, the junction of Chaleur Bay, the Restigouche River and in view of the rolling hills of the Gaspé Peninsula in Quebec.
Our Park contains more than 25 km of hiking and biking trails, and our downhill bike park offers Atlantic Canada's only lift-service mountain bike park. It also has a spacious ski lodge for our winter enthusiasts and a wooded campground for family and friends to enjoy throughout the summer.
What you will do
Reporting to the Sugarloaf Park Assistant Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and patrolling property, buildings and assets, as well as ensuring security when admitting visitors and employees. The duties and responsibilities will include:
- Patrolling grounds to protect against fire, theft and vandalism
- Locking gates, buildings, vehicles, etc.
- Monitoring visitors/clients for adherence to rules/policies
- Granting access to public
- Operating light vehicles
- Performing some janitorial duties as required
- Performing other tasks as required
Work Environment
- Work in all types of terrain and weather conditions
- Variable hours according to assigned schedule, including days, nights and weekends
Who you are
You are someone who possesses knowledge of Health and Safety Procedures. You are an effective interactive communicator and have good teamwork and cooperation skills. You are flexible and client service orientation driven. You maintain self control and stamina.
Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:
Need to have
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
- Written and spoken competence in English and/or French is required
Nice to have
- A minimum of one-year related experience
- Experience in a customer service environment
- A valid Emergency First Aid/CPR certification
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training
Wage
$21.87 per hour
