Vegreville, located 102 km east of Edmonton has a population of 6,000 and offers a complete range of services; has a friendly small-town atmosphere and is an attractive place to raise a family. The Alberta Health Services facility in Vegreville is the Vegreville Care Centre, a seniors housing facility which allows for 60 Long Term Care residents. The newly designed facility has Cottages built within, allowing for a more home like atmosphere for both patients and their families. Reporting to the Care Manager, the Health Care Aide provides patient care services as a member of a health care team, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. The Health Care Aide participates in the delivery of quality patient care by assisting with basic personal care and hygiene, lifting and transferring of patients, patient nutrition and feeding patients as necessary, changing linens, gathering equipment, restocking supplies, and portering patients and supplies as necessary.

Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.17/hour - $42.96/hour ($35.87/hour - $43.82/hour effective April 1, 2023). Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
