We are currently seeking a Multimedia Journalist to gather news and information in multimedia formats for digital and print. This individual is responsible for telling local stories that provoke thought and action for the betterment of our communities and provides citizens with the information they need to make informed decisions about their lives, their communities, and their governments.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Generating, developing, researching, and producing original stories focusing on local news and creative features for a variety of platforms, including web, mobile, social media, print, – as well as tailoring content to meet the needs and deadlines of those platforms;
- Generating and developing ideas independently as well as carrying out assignments;
- Focus on content that emphasizes what readers want to know, why they care and the effect of the issue on their lives;
- Shoot and edit still photos and capture quality visual content/video to tell the story effectively;
- Strategically engage in Social Media – monitor social media in real time and use it to promote content with consistent and impactful social media engagement.
Minimum qualifications:
- Journalism and/or Photojournalism degree or equivalent industry experience;
- Experience with news reporting and writing, shooting video, using social media, podcasts, creating enterprising content at a daily or weekly news outlet;
- Strong research and communication skills;
- Excellent understanding of journalistic ethics.
