Role Overview

We are looking for a Full Stack Developer Intern to be part of our Merchant Integrations team. You will be working on new integrations between Bonsai and our merchant partners (Enterprise and SMEs), improving existing integrations, and learning new technologies while broadening your knowledge in a high-velocity environment. This is a 6-month internship from January 2023 to June 2023, with the potential for extension.

As a developer at Bonsai, you will:

• Write clear, well-documented and structured code that follows best practices.
• Participate in code reviews with other teammates.
• Work with other teams to gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs.
• Independently analyze problems and develop creative solutions.
• Troubleshooting real-world production issues under fire.
• Work and communicate effectively within a cross-functional team.
• Troubleshoot, test and maintain code to ensure it is optimized, performs well and is high quality.

We're looking for someone who is/has:

• Comfortable working with NodeJS (Typescript),
• Experience with HTML/CSS and ability to use Javascript in a frontend environment (scraping)
• Eager to learn and passionate about software development.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Curious and a creative problem solver.
• A self-starter mindset. You love being in the weeds and are known for rolling up your sleeves to get things done. You never let roadblocks get in the way of getting things done; the laws of physics govern the only limits to what you can do.
• Time management and prioritization skills. Things change. The role requires someone who is used to juggling several tasks simultaneously and operating under uncertainty. You will need to work both hard and smart; one alone will not suffice.
