About you

You have some experience as a developer, but are early in your career with a desire to advance and grow your skills. You are a meticulous problem solver with an artistic eye, and you enjoy creating a service for your clients that is easy, intuitive, and visually pleasing. You are happy with a role that has a broad range of activities and you are motivated to advance your career.

Skills required:

- University/College degree in computer science or equivalent.

- Ability to write clean and scalable javascript code

- Experience designing and building web applications

- Initiative, and the ability to work independently

- Clear, effective communication skills

Assets:

- Hands-on experience in a software development team environment.

- Experience writing both frontend and backend code.

- Experience using Wix or Editor X.

- Experience with web UI/UX design.

- Experience using RESTful APIs.

- Experience writing unit tests, using a testing framework, or manual testing.

- Familiarity with web security and web performance issues.

- Database schema design and query skills in any DB.

- Experience with GIT.

- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

- Customer support experience.

Work environment requirements:

- Home workplace with high-speed internet

- Ability to travel to Ottawa or Kingston periodically

The Role

The successful candidate will work with our CIO to continue the development of our enterprise website. In addition to the full range of site development and site testing you will help our customer support troubleshoot client issues with the website.

Hiring Process

• Applicants will be screened based on their cover letter (required) and resume (required).
• Successful applicants will be offered interviews, which will take place the week of January 9-13th. This will include a brief (< 15 minute) phone interview as well as a longer (30 minute) zoom team interview.
• When the position is offered the applicant will be required to provide 3 work-place references.
